The Most Perfect Glazed Donut Nails Tutorial! 💅✨

Watch me work!!

Chrome nails have become soooo popular the last few years and it looks like they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. I personally love them so much, so I’m good with that ;)

Quick story time on some chrome nails I did once and my lesson:

My sister in law asked me if I would do her nails for her wedding and honeymoon a few years ago. I was kind of newer to doing nails and this was RIGHT after the glazed donut nail trend popped up so I had no idea how to use chrome correctly. So I did her nails with Nail Thoughts Milky Base, and then wiped them with alcohol and put on chrome and then put on top coat.

I thought they looked really nice especially for the wedding, and I texted her a few days later to ask how the nails were doing and she told me they still looked good, but for some reason the top coat and the chrome cracked and came off like a sheet, but the base underneath was totally ok!! Isn’t that weird? I then realized that chrome powder is essentially rubbing a barrier in between two layers of gel, so it’s really easy to mess up the adhesion and cause chipping to happen. So in my case, I basically created a sandwich with gel then powder then more gel, and the top layer just had nothing to grip on to so it easily came right off. Oops!

Until now… :)

I’ve tried so many different methods for using chrome and this is the easiest one that I’ve found to be really long lasting too! I explain everything in the video! And here are the products I used:
